Best Places to Buy Round Dining Tables for Every Budget
Round dining tables are an excellent choice for homes because the circular shape welcomes conversation no matter where you are seating. They also help save space, especially in tighter fitting areas or where it may be more difficult to walk around the table if it had sharp edges like a rectangle table. I will share the best places to buy round dining tales, no matter your budget or style that can sit 6-9 people.
We had a cute little round dining table in our first home that had a very tight kitchen and it worked wonderfully! Definitely suited the small space better and allowed more traffic flow. It’s also a lot easier to have a conversation with the entire table, rather than just those seated across and next to you, which tends to happen at rectangle tables.
I searched for the best places online to buy tables and there are so many great options for all different styles and sizes! Some can even extend and seat up to 8 or more chairs.

When determining what size of table will fit in your dining room, measure your space and allow for at least 36” from the edge of the table to the wall or any other furniture to allow for chairs to scoot in and out. If you have room for a larger table, sometimes an oval shape is best so you aren’t talking across a large circular table.
How Many Chairs Fit Around A 60” Round Table?
There are a few guidelines to keep in mind when deciding how many chairs can fit around a table…
First, do the chairs have arms? If they do, they are usually wider and take up more space. Even if your chairs don’t have arms, knowing the width of the chair is important.
A good rule of thumb is a chair typically needs about 24-30” of space for each.
Second, notice the leg placement on your dining table. Oftentimes legs will determine where chairs will sit so no one is jamming their knees. If you have two table legs on the ends, it can be tricky to fit chairs. That’s the beauty of a pedestal base table where you don’t have to worry about table legs getting in the way.
Third, is your dining setting formal or casual? If it’s a casual breakfast nook, you can get away with a tighter seating. 24” is enough for each chair typically. In a formal dining room setting, it’s nice to allow for more elbow room so 30” is recommended.
A round table that’s 48” – 60” can fit 6 chairs. You might be able to squeeze a seventh chair on a 60” table, but it depends on the chair size. A round table that’s 72” in diameter can seat up to 8 guests.
And if you like a little match equation to figure out how many chairs fit around your table, take the circumference of the table and divide it by either 24″ (casual) or 30″ (formal) to get how many chairs will fit!
Of course, take into account the width of your chair, but this is a great starting point.
